Terms of Use
Last updated 31 October 2026
In short: CyberMap is a business service. Its ratings, guidance and alerts help you make your own decisions; they are not advice and don't guarantee anyone's safety. Keep your sign-in to yourself, use CyberMap within your organisation, and don't copy or resell it.

About these terms
These terms apply to the CyberMap app and this website (together, "CyberMap"), run from the United Kingdom. "We", "us" and "our" mean the business that operates CyberMap; "you" means the person using it and, where you use it for an organisation, that organisation.
CyberMap is for organisations and the people they authorise, for business purposes, and you must be 18 or over to use it. By using CyberMap you accept these terms and, if you use it for an organisation, confirm you can accept them on its behalf. If your organisation has a separate signed agreement with us, that agreement takes priority where the two differ.
Accounts
Accounts are by invitation. Your account is personal: don't share your password, sign-in codes or session, and tell us straight away at contact@cybermap.live if you think someone else has used it. If you leave the organisation that arranged your account, stop using it.
What the ratings are, and are not
CyberMap rates the cyber risk a traveller faces in each country and suggests steps to reduce it. Please read the ratings with the following in mind:
- They are not advice. Nothing in CyberMap is security, legal, travel or other professional advice. Use it alongside your own judgement and, where appropriate, qualified advisers.
- They are not a guarantee. A low rating doesn't mean a trip is safe, and following the guidance doesn't prevent every incident.
- They can lag events. Live scores show some recent events, but not all, and alerts can be late or missed. Don't rely on CyberMap as your only way of learning that a country's risk has changed.
- They can change. We may revise ratings, guidance and how ratings are worked out at any time.
- The traveller lens is an estimate. It is a general guide, not an assessment of a particular person.
You are responsible for the decisions you and your organisation make, including whether and how people travel.
Using CyberMap
You may use CyberMap for your organisation's own travel security and risk work, including sharing a country's guidance or briefing with the people who are travelling. You must not:
- get round sign-in or access controls, or test CyberMap's security without our written permission;
- scrape or bulk-download ratings or other content, or try to work out how the ratings are calculated;
- publish, sell or pass on CyberMap content outside your organisation without our written permission, or use it to build a competing product;
- use CyberMap unlawfully or in a way that interferes with other users.
Confidentiality and ownership
We, or our licensors, own CyberMap, including its software, design, ratings, guidance and rating method. While you have access, you may use it under these terms; nothing else is transferred to you. The content of the app is confidential: keep it within your organisation, during and after your access, unless it is already public or the law requires you to disclose it. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.
Availability and ending access
We aim to keep CyberMap available but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw features. You can stop using CyberMap at any time and delete your account from the app. We may suspend or end your access, with notice where practical, if you break these terms, if your organisation's arrangement with us ends, or to protect CyberMap or its users.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under the law of England and Wales. Subject to that:
- CyberMap is provided "as is", and we exclude all warranties and terms not set out here, as far as the law allows;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from decisions made in reliance on a rating, guidance, live score or alert;
- our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees paid to us for CyberMap in that period.
General
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
- We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we'll email account holders about significant changes.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a business that takes over CyberMap.
- If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies, and if we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- No one else has rights under these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
